LVEDC Talks “Tech and Talent for Tomorrow’s Lehigh Valley” at Fall Signature Event

On Thursday, the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC) hosted its Fall Signature Event, highlighting the region’s rapidly growing science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) industries. The event focused on how local businesses are attracting, acquiring, and retaining the workforce needed to support this growing sector.
A panel of industry leaders discussed the benefits and challenges of cultivating talent in the region. Evonik Corporation’s Senior Vice President, Robert Cuscino, emphasized the need to engage youth early in science and technology careers, while Lisa Liddington of Lehigh Valley Hospital Network (LVHN) shared success stories from LVHN’s programs that connect students with career opportunities in healthcare through internships and partnerships.
LVEDC President Don Cunningham provided an overview of the Lehigh Valley’s economic strength, citing its top national rankings in economic development for mid-sized markets and a record $50.2 billion economy.
