The 2023 Lehigh Valley Manufacturers Forum attracted the attention of the media, especially the iTEC panel discussion that Richard Hobbs of MRC moderated, as reported today by Stacy Wescoe. Lehigh Valley’s manufacturing future relies on a skilled workforce, and local leaders and educators have united to establish the Industrial Training and Education Consortium (iTEC).
Companies like B. Braun and OraSure Technologies introduced this apprenticeship program at the Lehigh Valley Manufacturing Forum, aiming to create apprenticeship programs that equip workers with essential skills. iTEC’s goal is to simplify career pathways, fostering a pipeline of diverse talent.
It aligns with Pennsylvania’s aim to provide alternative career education options beyond traditional degrees. iTEC, a nonprofit, collaborates with various organizations and is backed by member companies and grants, offering debt-free education and state-registered apprenticeship programs in Mechatronics and Industrial Manufacturing Technician paths.
